The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last 24 hours.
Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
Number of calls
From 6:00am on September 14 to 6:00am on September 15, we received 441 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials.
A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows:
- Central: 106
- East: 95
- Midtown: 67
- North: 63
- South: 49
- West: 56
- Other: 5
"Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Notable calls
Monday, September 14:
Priority calls only from 12:23pm to 1:17pm due to calls for service.
- 8:01am – East – Crash: Officers responded to a traffic incident where a tire/wheel came off the vehicle. While in the area, the officer observed a 3-vehicle crash occur (Stoughton Rd/Pflaum Rd). A driver was issued a citation for being distracted.
- 12:07pm – South – Crash: Officers responded to a multi-vehicle crash with a vehicle that had flipped over. No serious injuries reported.
- 2:38pm – Central – Intoxicated Driver: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver (58-year-old male) had a revoked driver's license and an IID restriction. The driver did not have the IID installed. Open intoxicants were in the vehicle. The driver failed field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense), failure to install IID, operating after revocation, and possession of open intoxicants. The driver was also issued several traffic/vehicle citations.
- 4:29pm – South – Check Area: Caller reported that they were notified through another subject that a 38-year-old male subject (whom they have a domestic relationship with) threatened to kill them. Subject's phone pinged. Areas checked. The subject was contacted on the phone and he would not agree to meet with officers. Probable cause developed to charge/arrest the subject.
- 6:16pm – East – Crash: Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash (E. Washington Ave/Wright St). A citation was issued to one of the driver's for cutting off the other vehicle/driver.
Tuesday, September 15:
- 4:29am – Midtown – Check Person: Caller reported being with an elderly subject who seemed to be confused and not know where they lived. Contact made with the subject. Officers were able to identify their residence and they were returned home.
